[Research activity status] In order to realize a safe and secure automobile society, we are working on three major research themes related to automated driving. ■ "Real-time modeling of vehicle driving model according to road shape and driving conditions during automatic driving" Modeling error, which has been a problem in a vehicle model assuming the Ackermann geometry, which is a simple vehicle model, is expressed as a deviation in the front wheel steering angle. We are researching methods for modeling vehicle models in real time and with high accuracy according to changes in the situation. Seven research presentations, including SICE Annual Conference 2022 and Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan 2022 Spring Meeting. The paper will be published in the July issue of SICE Journal of Control, Measurement, and System Integration (2023). ■ "Automatic driving system when only part of vehicle information can be observed due to sensor failure etc." For the automatic driving (autopilot) system that considers system noise (impact of the road surface and weather such as wind, rain, and snow), due to poor maintenance, etc., the sensor that acquires vehicle information (state quantity) has some kind of malfunction. An autonomous driving system that uses only the observed vehicle information and has the same robustness as the optimal regulator, considering the case where only part of the vehicle information can be observed due to a malfunction (failure) and the sensor is mixed with observation noise. I am researching how to implement Three research presentations, including SICE Annual Conference 2022 and Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan 2022 Spring Meeting. ■ "Active tilt control seat for reducing collision damage" In future self-driving cars, the driver will be freed from driving, so there will be no need for the seat to face the direction of travel. It is possible that the sheet is facing the direction. In such cases, the airbag may not work well. As a new safety technology approach, this research group has proposed a collision damage mitigation tilting seat that predicts a collision and tilts the entire seat to compensate for the collision acceleration to the passenger, and is creating a scale model of it. *Student Safety Technology Design Competition 2023 Japan Tournament (Japan National Selection Committee) Finalist, 3rd place in Japan Tournament.
