Educational Activities: In each of the classes I teach, I conduct a questionnaire with exercises and ask students to report the parts they did not understand, and the parts most frequently reported are explained at the beginning of the next class. In addition, class slides and handouts are carefully prepared by clearly indicating the correspondence with the textbook so that students can understand them even if they study on their own later. According to the class questionnaire, these innovations are very well received, and we intend to continue them in the future. Research Activities: I am conducting research activities in pattern recognition and learning theory. I aim to publish at least one paper in an international journal annually. I make time for other activities (educational, social, and university administration) so that I have as much time as possible to concentrate on my research. Research guidance for graduate students is provided flexibly according to each student's interest and achievement level. We also encourage students to actively present their research at academic conferences as part of our research guidance. Social activities: We focus on supporting research activities for high school students in Hiroshima Prefecture. For example, in FY 2018, we provided research guidance to high school students in Hiroshima City as an advisor at the Global Science Campus (GSC) Hiroshima. In addition, as a supervisor and advisor related to the Hiroshima Prefectural Science Seminar, he directly provided comments and evaluations to high school students in the prefecture who presented their research in mathematics.
